Here we have an old plaster type ceiling which has collapsed just due to age. Sometimes the quickest/best way to patch ceilings like this is not to patch them at all, but to simply put a new sheetrock ceiling right over it.

Because there is no water damage, there is nothing to worry about with mold. And because it's an old surface it probably has lead paint on it, so it's often better not to disturb it at all.

In an old house like this, covering the ceiling of a bedroom usually takes about 6hrs of labor and $50 in materials.

Bathroom Floor Repairs

This customer had a slow leak under the toilet which eventually rotted the floor. We removed the toilet, cut out the rotted sub-floor and replaced the old sheet vinyl with new vinyl sheeting. Approximate repair time, 6hrs.

Build Small Deck platform

This customer wanted a small simple platform built outside of his French Door. The ground was already flat, but we dug the sonotubes, built the support structure and completed the surface with composite materials in under 16hrs.

Woodpecker Damage to Siding

This customer lives in a nice wooded area, but the woodpeckers love to drill holes in his siding. Many of the boards had dozens of holes in them. We had the option here of using wood filler and painting, or replacing the boards and painting. The customer chose wood filler. This repair took about 4hrs for 24 boards on a 24' ladder for most of the holes.

Vinyl Siding Repair in Nashua NH

This is from a very old building in Nashua that was damaged by a storm. Large patches of the vinyl siding were pulled off by the wind. Part of the problem here is that the building itself is so old that the substructure below the vinyl wasn't solid enough for the original installer to attach the vinyl onto. This repair took under 6hrs to complete.

Ceiling repairs due to water damage

Ceiling repairs and staining are a common problem for people who have had water damage in upper floors. Damage like this can be caused by plumbing issues in bathrooms or by roof leaks or other exterior weather related damage. Obviously the leak needs to be located and repaired first. Then we start fixing the damage.

Textured ceilings are common in New Hampshire and often these are the hardest part of ceiling repairs like this. To cover the staining we use common stain Kilz products and paint. Patching the hole can usually done in a couple of trips. Then comes the challenge of trying to match the texture as closely as possible.

Repairs like this typically take about three trips to the customer site.

Leaking windows and moldy walls

This customer had a mystery leak dripping from the center of her living room ceiling. We traced the leak back to the exterior wall and deduced that the window was probably the source. Sure enough, once we opened the wall and siding near the window it became clear that the window had been leaking for years. The entire wall was saturated and completely molded. We also discovered that the original contractor had installed the Tyvek incorrectly (underlapped instead of overlapped), and that they did not seal any of the windows correctly. We located the leak, removed the molded material and sealed everything back up until the home owner could schedule a mold remediation company to clean the entire area. This turned into a very extensive job, the ultimate source of which was poor building methods used by the original contractor.

Rodents in the Rafters

This customer had a squirrel and some chipmunks build a nest in his soffit. The soffit eventually burst from the weight and pulled away from the house taking the gutter with it. Once we started the repair we discovered that whoever built the house had used staples instead of nails to attach the fascia.

This repair took two craftsmen and was completed in under 10 man-hours.
